Dark Orange Bubble-Blown Art Paper – 5 Hand-Patterned Sheets, 8.5 × 11
Details
Warm color. Wandering bubbles. And absolutely no interest in behaving exactly the same way twice.
Each package contains 5 sheets of standard 8.5 × 11 inch copy paper, individually patterned using a wonderfully unpredictable bubble-blowing process.
Bubbles infused with color are blown onto the paper, where they land, gather, overlap, rest, and eventually pop—leaving behind delicate rings, tiny clustered cells, larger open circles, cloudy washes, mottled areas, and wonderfully unexpected markings.
This Dark Orange collection brings a warm, earthy richness to the Wind Kissed shelf. The actual papers have a deeper orange character than the photographs are able to capture, while the bubble process creates everything from broad washes of color to distinct open circles and intricate cellular markings.
The bubbles decide much of what happens next.
And they are not particularly interested in making two sheets alike.
What You'll Receive
Each package contains:
- 5 sheets of bubble-blown decorative paper
- 8.5 × 11 inch standard letter-size sheets
- Standard copy paper
- Individually patterned using color-infused bubbles
- Created using Rit Dye and/or acrylic color, depending upon the batch
- A coordinating assortment selected from the handmade papers
- Naturally varied bubble patterns, markings, and color placement
There is no standard pack.
Because the bubbles create their own spontaneous patterns, individual sheets can vary considerably in bubble size, pattern density, placement of color, depth and saturation, open or lightly colored areas, overlapping marks, and overall composition.
I sort through the finished papers and select five sheets that I feel work beautifully together as a small collection.
The photographs show representative examples of this Dark Orange collection.
The exact 5 sheets pictured are not necessarily the 5 sheets you will receive.
Wander Through the Paper Garden
Step into a garden where ordinary paper becomes something wonderfully unexpected.
Wander Through the Paper Garden is a collection of hand-created papers shaped by color, movement, natural variation, and processes that are allowed to leave some of the design to chance.
Some papers take their color from the natural world. Others are transformed through playful surface techniques that create marks impossible to reproduce exactly.
No two sheets grow quite the same.
Made for junk journals, collage, altered books, mixed media, paper crafting, and wherever your own creativity happens to wander.
From the Wind Kissed Shelf
Somewhere in the Paper Garden is a shelf where the breeze has apparently been allowed to help.
Wind Kissed is home to papers whose patterns are created through air, movement, and a little unpredictability.
For these bubble-blown papers, air becomes part of the art-making process itself. Bubbles carry color across the page before settling, gathering, overlapping, and popping.
What remains behind is their fleeting little record—rings, webs, clusters, open spaces, soft washes, and unexpected intersections that could never be placed exactly the same way twice.
The result feels spontaneous because it is.
These aren't papers made by controlling every mark.
They're papers made by creating the conditions for something interesting to happen.
Made One Bubble at a Time
The patterns you see are not digitally printed or reproduced from a master design.
Color is added to the bubble mixture using Rit Dye and/or acrylic color, and the bubbles are blown directly onto the paper.
Some bubbles settle individually.
Some crowd together.
Some leave large open circles. Others form smaller clustered cells. In places where the bubbles overlap or the color gathers more heavily, the marks can become deeper and more mottled.
Then the bubbles pop.
What remains is a record of where they happened to land.
The Dark Orange papers have an especially interesting combination of soft mottling and defined bubble formations. Some areas almost appear washed or clouded with color, while others reveal the individual rings and cellular structures left behind by the bubbles.
Because the pattern develops as the bubbles move, settle, overlap, and burst, I cannot simply recreate a particular sheet once it is gone.
Every sheet is its own little experiment.
Why Only 5 Sheets?
My naturally dyed papers are offered in larger sets, but these bubble-blown papers work a little differently.
The bubble process is wonderfully unpredictable.
One session can produce sheets with dramatically different pattern density, bubble size, color placement, open space, and visual movement. Even papers created at the same time with the same colors can look surprisingly different from one another.
That means creating a package isn't simply a matter of counting out sheets.
I sort through the finished papers and assemble groups of five that coordinate with one another while still retaining the individual personality of each sheet.
Your five won't be identical.
They're meant to be companions, not copies.
About Dark Orange
This Dark Orange collection combines a warm, deeper orange palette with the unpredictable organic patterns created by the bubbles.
Individual papers may contain broad areas of mottled color, larger open bubble impressions, tiny clustered cells, overlapping circles, pale areas, or places where the orange becomes more concentrated.
Some sheets may have very obvious bubble formations.
Others may have a softer, almost cloudlike or marbled appearance where individual bubbles have merged into larger areas of pattern.
That difference is one of the things I particularly like about this set.
Depending upon where you look, the patterns can suggest stone, clouds, weathered surfaces, cells, foam, or even the mottled coloring of old handmade papers.
Some sheets will be quieter.
Others will be considerably more patterned.
Those differences aren't imperfections.
They're the fingerprints of the process.
Made for Creative Possibilities
These Dark Orange bubble papers would be beautiful in junk journals, collage, altered books, handmade journals, mixed media, scrapbook layouts, tags, pockets and tuck spots, handmade cards, paper ephemera, bookmaking, backgrounds, layering, and other creative paper projects.
The warm orange coloring makes this set particularly suited to autumn and harvest projects, woodland journals, botanical work, vintage-inspired pieces, rustic themes, Halloween crafting, nature journals, warm florals, and mixed-media collage.
The patterns also become particularly interesting when the paper is cut or torn into smaller pieces.
One tiny section might contain a cluster of miniature bubbles, while another captures part of a large open circle or an area where several layers of color overlap.
And don't throw away those scraps.
These are exactly the sort of papers where a tiny leftover piece may contain the most interesting pattern of all.
Please Note
These papers are individually handmade, and variation is an essential characteristic of the product.
Differences may include bubble size and shape, bubble placement, pattern density, color concentration and saturation, overlapping marks, white or lightly colored areas, irregular edges within individual bubble impressions, overall composition, and slight variations in surface texture.
Because liquid is used during the process, sheets may also show slight waviness, wrinkles, softened areas, or other dimensional variations associated with hand-colored paper.
Small irregularities associated with the handmade process should be expected and are part of the character of these papers.
A Note About Color & Photography
The Dark Orange color has been particularly difficult to capture accurately in photographs.
The photographs tend to make these papers appear lighter, paler, and more peach or apricot-toned than they appear in person. The actual papers have a richer, deeper orange character.
Lighting, camera exposure, surrounding colors, monitor settings, screen brightness, and individual device displays can all affect the way handmade colors appear.
I have photographed the papers as carefully as possible to show their patterns and overall character, but please expect the actual color to differ somewhat from what you see on your screen.
The photographs should be used primarily to show the style and range of the handmade bubble patterns, rather than as an exact color reference.
You will receive 5 coordinating sheets. You will not necessarily receive the exact sheets shown in the photographs.
Care & Safety Information
These papers are intended for decorative paper crafting and creative use.
Depending upon the individual batch, color may have been created using Rit Dye and/or acrylic art materials.
The finished papers are not represented as food-safe, archival, acid-free, waterproof, or colorfast unless specifically stated otherwise.
Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture. Color transfer or bleeding may be possible if the paper becomes wet or is used with wet media, adhesives, sealants, sprays, or other art products. Testing your chosen product on a scrap or inconspicuous area first is recommended when the finished appearance is important.
These papers are not intended for food contact or children's play.
Store in a cool, dry location away from prolonged direct sunlight and excessive moisture.
