A Little Autumn Story

Some autumn treasures are gathered outdoors.

Others are found much later—inside an old book, beneath a ribbon in a drawer, or tucked into an envelope where someone once thought, I should keep this.

The Keepsake Garden was inspired by those small things we save simply because they feel worth remembering.

A faded theatre ticket. A portrait from another time. A pressed autumn leaf. A scrap of lace. A little card with a story we may never know.

And then there is the garden itself—still bright with flowers even as the season begins to turn.

This little collection feels like that moment between summer and autumn, when the flowers haven't quite finished blooming, the first leaves are beginning to fall, and every small thing seems to be asking to become a keepsake.

About This Set

Autumn Treasures: The Keepsake Garden is a one-of-a-kind handmade mini journal and ephemera set created by Butterfly in the Attic.

At the center of the collection are two tall, slender mini journals covered in cheerful floral paper filled with turquoise blue, coral, golden yellow and warm orange blossoms.

Each journal is backed in deep chocolate brown and finished with a contrasting corner tuck pocket—one in rich brown and the other in warm autumn orange.

Metal eyelets at the tops are threaded with soft, loosely woven cream fabric, creating wonderfully relaxed, frayed ties that add texture and a slightly timeworn character.

One journal is also edged with a narrow strip of vintage-style cream trim, adding another layer of softness and detail.

Inside are lined writing pages, ready for notes, memories, lists, quotations, little observations or anything else worth keeping.

A Place to Keep Everything

The collection rests inside a large handmade tag-shaped holder in soft ivory.

Its gently inked brown edges give the piece the appearance of something that has already spent a little time tucked away in an old drawer.

The angled upper corners echo the shape of an oversized vintage tag, while a deep semicircle opening along the front pocket makes the contents easy to reach.

When the journals are tucked inside, their bright floral covers rise above the quiet neutral holder, along with their soft fabric ties and coordinating autumn pen.

The contrast feels a little like opening an old envelope and discovering a garden inside.

Two Oversized Writing Tags

Two large coordinating tag-shaped pieces are included with the collection.

Their soft ivory surfaces and gently aged edges provide generous open space for writing, collage, stamping, photographs or additional embellishment.

The tags can be used as oversized journal cards, memory keepers, photo mats, handwritten letters, recipe cards or places to record favorite autumn traditions.

They can also simply remain tucked into the holder until the right story comes along.

Little Autumn Treasures

Several removable pieces of ephemera are tucked into the journal pockets.

There are vintage-inspired tickets, including an old-fashioned admission ticket and a larger theatre-style ticket, along with a portrait tag featuring a woman from another era.

Two warm red-orange autumn leaves bring a little bit of the outdoors into the collection.

And tucked among the flowers is a black cat sitting beneath a tree as the sun glows behind him.

He seems considerably more interested in the garden than in explaining how he got there.

These little pieces can be moved from pocket to pocket, used as journal embellishments, added to another project or incorporated into your own collage and paper crafting.

Nothing has to stay exactly where I put it.

That is part of the fun.
