A Little Autumn Story

Some autumn treasures are found simply by looking down.

A maple leaf glowing red against the sidewalk. Another one caught at the edge of a garden path. A handful gathered almost without thinking and carried home because, for one afternoon at least, they seemed far too beautiful to leave behind.

Leaves Along the Way was inspired by those small discoveries.

The journals are filled with tumbling autumn leaves in russet, pumpkin, gold and green, while little vintage-style tickets and paper pieces suggest there may have been a few stops along the journey.

And tucked among the collection is a tiny reminder to enjoy it while it lasts.

Because autumn never seems to stay quite long enough.

Perhaps that's why we save pieces of it.

About This Set

Autumn Treasures: Leaves Along the Way is a one-of-a-kind handmade mini journal and ephemera set created by Butterfly in the Attic.

At the center of the collection are two tall, slender mini journals covered in a lively autumn paper scattered with colorful leaves.

Shades of burnt orange, russet red, golden yellow, olive and fresh green tumble across a light background, giving the covers the feeling of leaves caught in an October breeze.

Each journal is backed in deep chocolate brown and finished with a warm pumpkin-orange corner tuck pocket.

Soft, loosely woven cream fabric is threaded through metal eyelets at the tops. The fabric has been left intentionally frayed, adding a relaxed, timeworn texture to the brighter autumn papers.

Inside are lined writing pages ready for memories, lists, little observations and whatever else you decide is worth keeping.

A Place to Keep Everything

The entire collection slips neatly into a large handmade tag-shaped holder.

The holder begins with a soft ivory upper section and finishes in a beautiful wash of deep russet, cranberry, burnt orange and warm golden tones at the bottom.

Its softly inked edges continue the aged character found throughout the set, while the rich autumn color peeking from beneath the journals ties everything together.

A semicircle opening at the front makes the journals easy to reach while keeping them nestled securely inside.

A coordinating autumn pen rests between the two journals, creating a ready-to-use little writing collection.

Two Oversized Writing Tags

Two large coordinating tags are included for even more room to write, collage or decorate.

One features delicate diagonal stripes in a soft neutral palette, while the second is finished in a lovely dusty blush-pink. Both have gently aged edges and simple cream fabric tabs.

Turn them over and you'll find generous blank writing surfaces.

Use them for an autumn memory, a favorite quotation, photographs, seasonal recipes, gratitude lists, places visited or a record of something lovely you noticed along the way.

They can also become oversized journal cards, photo mats or the beginnings of entirely new collages.

Little Autumn Treasures

The removable ephemera in this collection carries the wandering, collected feeling of the set.

You'll find several beautifully colored autumn leaves, including maple-style leaves in rich shades of red, orange and gold.

There are also vintage-inspired ticket and label pieces, along with a small round illustrated piece and other coordinating paper treasures.

Together they feel a little like the contents of a pocket emptied at the end of an autumn outing—tickets from somewhere visited, a few leaves picked up along the way and little bits of paper that somehow came home too.

Everything can be moved between the corner pockets, tucked into another journal, layered into a collage or used in your own paper crafting.

They don't have to stay where I put them.
