About These Fasteners

These Autumn Leaves Decorative Paper Fasteners are handcrafted by Butterfly in the Attic.

Each begins with a small decorative wooden leaf in an assortment of autumn-inspired shapes and colors. I have attached the leaves to metal brads, transforming them into dimensional fasteners that can be added to handmade books, journal covers, tags and other paper projects.

The set contains 6 assorted leaf fasteners, with a mixture of leaf shapes and softly varied autumn colors including warm browns, muted reds, soft green and natural tones.

The engraved leaf details add another layer of texture and give each little leaf its own character.

Made for Creative Play

Use these little leaves anywhere your paper project could use a touch of autumn.

They would be lovely added to junk journal covers, tags, pockets, journal cards, altered books, scrapbook pages, autumn memory keeping, handmade cards, gift tags or mixed-media projects.

The metal brad at the back can be inserted through paper, cardstock and other suitable craft materials, then the prongs can be opened at the back to help hold the fastener in place.

They can be functional fasteners or simply decorative embellishments.

A Note About Handmade Character

These are intentionally simple, handmade crafting embellishments rather than factory-produced fasteners.

Small differences in the wooden leaves, coloring and assembly are part of their handmade character.

I especially like these for projects where you want to introduce just one little seasonal detail—a leaf holding a tag together, peeking from the corner of a journal cover or becoming the finishing touch on an autumn collage.

Sometimes one tiny leaf is enough.
